TIPS TO HELP YOUR KID HAVE HEALTHY TEETH AND GUMS


As a parent at the early stage of your kid’s childhood, It is important to take care of their oral health. Poor oral health leads to many problems like gum disease, cavities, and tooth decay. You can prevent the problem By using some of the tips given below.

1)Brushing Teeth

Brushing teeth twice a day in the morning and at bedtime keeps your kid’s teeth and Gums Healthy. Make sure to use a proper kid toothbrush that is comfortable to use. and also make use of kid-sized dental floss that helps to remove bacteria, plaque, and food from between your kid teeth that would prevent tooth decay and cavities. Guide them on how to use the brush in a proper method like how to hold the toothbrush, use pea size toothpaste, and also proper directions to Brush.

2) Eat Right

Give healthy food which is high in protein and calcium which helps to build strong teeth like having a glass of milk, cheese slices, vegetables and fruits and avoid giving certain food which leads to tooth decay and cavities. Avoid giving chewy, sugary, dark cola, etc.

3) Avoid nursing or giving milk through a feeder at night.

The most common cause of rampant decay in children is nursing or giving milk through a feeder at night. Milk pools on the teeth surface when the child sleeps leading to multiple decayed teeth. Avoid this or ensure that your child wakes up and brushes after feeding at night.

4) limit sugary food

Limit having sugary food and drinks. Be sure that after having sugary food to rinse their teeth with clean water or brush their teeth to wash away the sugar. Sugary food like candy and sticky foods leed to tooth decay and cavities.

5) Dental consultation

Make sure to take your kid for a consultation with a pediatric Dentist By age 1 or within 6 months after the first tooth comes out.

Consult at least twice per year, your dentist will examine your kid for cavities and make sure that teeth are aligned correctly.
